Is Alfonso Soriano A Hall Of Famer? A Closer Look At His Case

Alfonso Soriano and Adam Dunn didn’t make the Hall of Fame in 2020. They didn’t get enough votes. This means they’re off the ballot for good.

It’s tough to make the Hall of Fame. Players need to get at least 5% of the votes from the Baseball Writers’ Association of America. This means 75 out of 168 voters need to think they deserve a spot in Cooperstown. Unfortunately, neither Soriano nor Dunn got that much support.

So, what happened? Both Soriano and Dunn had solid careers, but they weren’t superstars. Soriano had some really good years, with a couple of MVP finishes and a few Silver Slugger awards. He had a knack for hitting home runs and stealing bases, which is rare. Dunn was known for his power hitting and on-base percentage as a slugger. He even hit 50 home runs in a season, which is a huge accomplishment. But, both players also had some inconsistent years and some injury problems.

The Hall of Fame is about the best of the best in baseball history. It’s a tough club to join. It’s clear that many voters didn’t think Soriano or Dunn reached that level of greatness.
